Light Blue: 5 Color Pairs
5 colors you can pair with a light blue!
Today I’ll be talking about 5 colors that can be paired with light blue and why. Let’s get into it!
Although both colors are blue, Cobalt Blue is much deeper and more saturated than light blue which creates contrast and visual interest in the color palette. Cobalt Blue is also a very vibrant and energetic color, while the light blue brings a sense of tranquility. When you put these two together, the effect is both energizing and soothing. This is considered a sophisticated color combination that evokes a sense of freshness and openness within your space.
Light pink and light blue are adjacent to each other on the color wheel, which allows for a nearly seamless transition between the two colors and a sense of visual continuity. Although both of these colors are distinct, both have that pastel, muted nature to them. This creates a subtle and harmonious contrast that is gentle on the eyes, which is perfect if you want a softer aesthetic in the home.
Terra Cotta Orange
Light blue and Terra Cotta Orange are practically situated on opposite ends of the color wheel, making them complementary colors. This earthy orange brings warmth and vibrancy against the coolness of light blue, which creates a dynamic and visually appealing contrast. Another thing about this color combination is that it’s reminiscent of nature; a blue sky and warm terracotta hues found in the earth. Personally, this is my favorite light blue combination out of the ones I’m talking about today.
Somewhat similarly to Terra Cotta Orange, Mustard Yellow is another dynamic option you can go with if you want some contrast against the light blue in your space. Yes, this is very much a visually striking combination, but if executed right, it is definitely capable of creating balance and harmony. Light blue is a refreshing color that brings a calming element, while mustard yellow is a warm and earthy tone that adds both warmth and depth!
Lilac and light blue make an appealing color combination due to them being analogous colors, meaning they’re next to each other on the color wheel. Both of light blue and lilac have cool undertones, and can evoke a sense of serenity and tranquility. If you want a light and airy aesthetic in your home, an elegant lilac color is a perfect color to pair with light blue!
